Igor Stravinsky: A Soldier’s Tale

The multimedia production of Stravinsky’s A Soldier’s Tale premiered at the Yale School of Music in December 2024, showcasing the most advanced version of Marionette Live Video Accompaniment to date. This hour-long performance features seven musicians and narrator, with animated projections created by Nikki Pet.

This production marks a major step forward in Marionette LVA’s capabilities, and is an early test of scalability and reliability across complex, large-ensemble works. Nikki Pet developed the visual design and animation in close coordination with the musical score to highlight character, mood, and dramatic structure—Marionette LVA allows that animation to seamlessly follow the performers throughout the entire piece.
