Igor Stravinsky: A Soldier’s Tale

The multimedia production of Stravinsky’s A Soldier’s Tale premiered at the Yale School of Music in December 2024, showcasing the most advanced version of Live Video Accompaniment (LVA) to date. This hour-long performance features seven musicians and a narrator, with animated projections that respond in real time to the expressive nuances and tempo shifts of the live ensemble. By adapting to each performance’s unique pacing, LVA preserves the precise synchronization between music and visuals, bringing new energy and clarity to this staple of the classical canon.

This production marks a major step forward in LVA’s capabilities, demonstrating its scalability and reliability across complex, large-ensemble works. PetsAloud co-founder and CEO, Nikki Pet, developed the visual design and animation in close coordination with the musical score to highlight character, mood, and dramatic structure—LVA allows that animation to seamlessly follow the performers throughout the entire piece.

At our current stage of development, we are seeking partners to create musical multimedia using our tools. Our collaboration will help you achieve your goals onstage and in the classroom—all while helping us refine and improve our products. If you are interested in working together, contact us.

Premiere in Sprague Hall at the Yale School of Music, December 8th, 2024.
